Doing different angles:
Taking photos at different angles is a good way to be creative as long as they are viewable to people without getting headaches.
So instead of taking photos coming from the same angle you should mix it up. Get low and high shots. This will give different perspectives of the wedding.
Make sure none are all the way upside down, this is hard to view and can give people headaches.
Pictures that can tell a story:
There are many ways to get photos to tell a story; staged, or candid. What you want these photos to do is to let people know what's happening before, on or even during the wedding.
An example would be that a father-in-law is talking to the groom, you could have the father-in-law look angry, or have the groom roll his eyes, etc. if you can get them candid all is better.
Some different exposure types:
This is putting different images together. This can be quite creative. Make sure though that the bride and groom are into this type of photography. Its good to have some examples to show so they know what you're talking about. They can decide if they want them or not.
